Amor Vincit Omnia

Virgil , the Roman poet, wrote "love conquers all things; let us too surrender to Love."

A friend of mine, who is brilliant and wise,

had a year in her home where the focus of all things was :

"Let Love be your guide."

When I think of Love as my guide, I think of:
how the eyes of the One called Love will see,
how the One called Love would speak,
how the One called Love would act...
and I see how little I let Love guide.

But why? When Love
evicts our fears from their abode,
 covers over our many sins,
is patient and kind to us,
& not jealous,
nor boastful,
does not seek its own,
& does not keep records of our wrongs.

Love is what brings us to change,
it's what calls us Home,
it listens,
it hopes,
it believes,
it builds courage in us.

Love took on and took away our shame,
turned our dark to day,
Love spoke us into being,
Love breathed life into us,
and it wakes us each day with new mercies.

Love keeps us alive.
Love - True Love- The Love that died for us
& now lives and indwells us when we just say "yes"

-that Love-
Conquers.
All.

So today-
with mountains of :
papers and diapers and laundry and bills and books and planners and papers and stuff you need to sort and did I say papers?

And worries and fears and looming failures and threatening circumstances and more mountains- like illness and brokenness and addictions and hurt and pride and despair and you name it-
Let Love conquer those mountains.

Let Love into the brokenness.

Let Love re-create a beautiful thing from your tiny pieces- crushed scattered and lost.

Love
Conquers
All.
